Who

Black women are more likely to be at risk for developing poor mental health conditions due to external factors such as caregiver strains, social isolation and exclusion, exposure to traumatic events and poor access to mental health care.

Black women are also less likely to seek mental health treatment due to internal factors such as negative attitudes and stigmas about mental health, beliefs and behaviours that dismiss treatment due to longstanding cultural mistrust.
